Barnes Insurance Agency has been providing insurance solutions to residents of our communities for more than five decades, securing coverages to protect one’s family, property, and assets. Our personal lines insurance options are designed to address a wide array of needs, including Homeowners insurance and Auto insurance that cover both property and liability concerns. We also provide protection for renters, condominium owners, and mobile homeowners, and can insure your motorcycle, RV, boat and other watercraft.
Getting to know you.
Our staff gets to know each client well, so that we can determine the proper coverages that are required. For example, your lifestyle, family or income may indicate a need for Personal Umbrella insurance, which extends the liability limits of your underlying insurance policies, including that of your Auto and Homeowners liability. We’ll also take a look at your exposure for damage from flood and provide you with options.
Attention to detail provides you with peace of mind.
In addition, we work with leading insurers that specialize in providing packages for high net worth clients, including High-Value Homeowners, Automobile and Umbrella coverages. In addition, many of our High-Value packages come with specialized risk management services designed to provide assistance in the event of a loss and to help mitigate further damage.
Providing solutions for your well being.
At Barnes Insurance Agency, in addition to offering Property and Liability insurance products, we can provide you with Health insurance options, particularly important in today’s changing landscape where a balanced approach between cost and healthcare benefits is essential. Personal Auto / Home / Umbrella Insurance
Barnes Insurance Agency provides a broad portfolio of insurance products to the communities we serve, including the vital coverages of Auto, Home and Personal Umbrella. Whether you’re buying your first car, have a number of family cars, or replacing a vehicle with a new model, rely on Barnes Insurance Agency to provide you with the Auto insurance you need to properly protect against liability and property damage.
The same also goes for the home you own – whether you’re a new home buyer, upgrading to a larger house as your family expands or moving to another location, we have access to a number of insurance carriers to offer top-quality protection at competitive prices. A Personal Umbrella policy, which serves to extend your liability limits under your primary policies, can be added to make sure your assets are safeguarded, particularly important in today’s litigious environment.
When reviewing your Personal Auto insurance needs, we’ll create a comprehensive program that may include the following features:
- Bodily Injury/Property Damage Liability: Protects you from loss due to injuries and property damage you may cause to others while operating your auto.
- Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists: Provides injury expenses incurred by you, your family members, or passengers due to an accident by a motorist who is uninsured or underinsured.
- Medical Coverage: Pays medical expenses of the driver and occupants of your insured auto.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Protects you from damage caused by things other than a vehicle collision, such as fire, theft, and vandalism.
- Collision Coverage: Protects you from loss should another vehicle collide with yours.
There are additional coverages we can discuss with you including Towing & Labor, Full Glass Coverage, and Rental.
Home is where your family nests, where the majority of your prized possessions are, and where you’re creating memories. You take special care of your home, including wanting to find the best insurance protection available to safeguard you and your family against property damage and liability exposures. At Barnes Insurance Agency, our team of experienced insurance professionals specializes in insuring all types of homes, including high-value properties. Our policies can cover the basics, with Property and Liability coverage for damaging events, such as fire, theft, vandalism or injury, or they can be tailored to take into account high-end collections, such as art, silver, wine, jewelry and more. The policy will also cover legal defense if you or your family should be brought into a lawsuit alleging that you’re responsible for injuries or property damage to others.
Million-dollar verdicts are not as rare as they once were, especially when it comes to liability suits. This is why at Barnes Insurance Agency, we suggest that your personal insurance program be supplemented with an Umbrella policy. The policy operates in concert with your basic coverages to offer more protection for risks of bodily injury and property damage, along with coverage for other risks that your standard policies may not insure. It offers an extra layer of insurance coverage over your standard liability policies. So, if you have, for example, a $300,000 liability limit on your Auto policy, and purchase a $1 million Umbrella policy, you would have $1.3 million in coverage.
Life / Health / Disability Insurance
Look to Barnes Insurance Agency to help protect you and your family.
Barnes Insurance Agency, in addition to providing insurance programs for your property (auto, home, etc.), also offers a portfolio of products to help protect your family. We provide a number of different products for individual Life, Health and Disability insurance.
Life insurance is an integral component in helping protect a family’s financial security. It’s critical in the event of your death to help mitigate financial hardships for your survivor(s) – and an excellent tool for estate planning and wealth perpetuation. We offer several Life insurance options:
Term Life insurance: Ideal for people with a specific insurance need for a defined period of time. For example, you’re a young couple with kids and, although you are doing well, you haven’t yet saved a sufficient nest egg to support your dependents in the event of premature death. Term insurance will pay the face amount on the policy to your named beneficiary. The amount of coverage can include living expenses for survivors; the lump sum amount necessary to fund future educational expenses; and/or money to provide for the future retirement needs of the surviving spouse. Premiums for Term policies are often reasonable for those in good health up to about age 50.
Whole Life or Permanent Insurance: This combines a Term policy with an investment component and is available in three ways: traditional Whole Life, Universal and Variable Universal. Whole Life insurance relies on insurance company dividends as the source of accumulation inside the policy. These policies are often used to assist beneficiaries to fund a business buyout or pay estate or capital gains taxes on inheritance so properties can be kept in a family. Universal and Variable Universal Life holders invest by using sub-accounts, which are like mutual funds, inside the policy.
Permanent Life insurance earnings grow on a tax-deferred basis, and you may borrow against your cash value. Some permit you to change premium payments based on the accumulation of value in the policy, and some permit you to alter the death benefit during the course of the policy period.
Disability Income protection insurance is an excellent way to safeguard against the financial calamity that so often results from a disabling injury or illness. Even temporary or short-term disabilities can be devastating, leading to massive debt and even bankruptcy. We can tailor an individual Disability insurance policy specific to your needs. Disability insurance payments can be used for any expenses you decide to apply them to: to support your spouse while you are convalescing, to pay for home healthcare that medical insurance doesn’t cover, or to fund your business so your absence doesn’t drag the company or practice down, for instance. Additionally, if you are in a certain profession, you can adjust the policy to respond to particular issues you might have regarding your occupation. For example, if you are a doctor and are rendered unable to work in your specific field but can still work in a lower-paying job, you may be eligible to receive compensation from the insurer to make up for the difference in pay.
