Gatlinburg Hotel Insurance: How Guests Prioritize AmenitiesGatlinburg Hotel Insurance: How Guests Prioritize Amenities

In a recent survey conducted by Hotels.com, over 400 global hotel guests were asked what amenities were most important when it came to booking a hotel room. 38% of the respondents cited free Wi-Fi as a must when staying at a hotel. 35% said it is the single amenity they want to see more of in hotels, and 31% said they want it to become a standard amenity at hotels this year.

While Wi-Fi clearly seems to trump all other amenities, do you know what other features your potential guests look for when coming to stay at your hotel? More and more, guests want all the conveniences of home when they are away. Today, this means having access to the same technology they can access at home. This can include iPads, massage chairs, high-end coffee makers, etc.

This isn’t to say that the little things don’t count anymore. 43% of the survey’s respondents cited complimentary bottled water as one of the top amenities that they want to see more of in hotel rooms. Other “simple” items that hotel guests say they look for include a safe, electrical outlets on desks and/or lamps, power adapters, and robes.

One last important amenity that guests look for is free food and beverages. 23% of the survey respondents say that this is their most missed comfort from home when traveling. Not surprisingly, free snacks are one of the key considerations when travelers book their hotel.
